I still shoot Film

As you will have seen in my first Vintage camera post I still shoot traditional film and have an array of oldskool cameras.
I also have a fully equipped darkroom that shares my office space.

The darkroom for me is where it all began; The smell of the chemicals, and the trickling sound of the wash water all bathed in a red light that illuminates with just enough power to avoid bumping into things!

I’m definitely a nostalgic. I find digital to be like the perfect looking person that has all the charm of a brick, which you then need to hone into someone worth knowing.
Film, however comes out with an instant personality and it is most probably imperfect and unexpected but you know from the beginning that you are both going to have a hoot!

Don’t get me wrong Digital can be awesome too, and I love any medium of photography, it is after all my craft, but there is something about spending a whole hour just enjoying the pure magic of an image appearing out of nothing on white paper though a watery bath that surpasses all else.

Here are two from my latest Darkroom session
